Video Cameras - Which is the best one

boy holding video cameraI have been considering purchasing a new camera for some time--particularly one with a wide angle lense.  I read Jeff Turner's recommendation for a Panasonic Lumix FX35 and was considering that one.  Then I attended a Realtor.com technology seminar the other day.  While there were definitely looking to sign realtors up for one of their systems (after all it was free), I did take away a few things.  I already have a pretty good camera but no wide angle.  They talked about a wide angle lens that can be purchased and attached to most cameras (that have a zoom out eye).  This is something that I was not aware of.  It is through www.magneticlens.comand only costs about $37.00.  For those that have never heard of it, it comes with a magnetizing device and you tell them your camera model etc. and it will fit your camera.

They also said we don't really need a camcorder if our digital camera takes video which my current one does (never really used it) and most do now days I am sure.  Hmmm. . .  So, now I am unsure.  Since this is becoming a big part of our tools as a Realtor, I searched ActiveRain.  After about eight pages of many search results, I was even more confused.  It seems that Flip video is the most popular with the average tech savvy agent.  I was also considering buying a camcorder separately from my camera until the seminar.  Actually I have a lot of accumulated points on my charge and was going to spend them on a camcorder.  I came across a good post by Bo Buchanan comparing Flip and other recorders.  Here I saw that Flip is out because it does not come with a tripod connection and that appears to be necessary--from a post I read of Brad Andersohn 10 Tips for Better Quality Videos with Tripod being #1.  It was also considered to be a major consideration at the Realtor.com seminar.  If I choose a separate camcorder from by camera, it seemed that maybe the RCA Small Wonder EZ201 is good.  Also, if I buy a separate camcorder, I have to consider how it downloads, memory, ability to edit etc.

So, I end up more confused than when I started.  My main question is should I buy a good camera that can do it all or have a separate camcorder (or Flip vs. RCA Small Wonder or another type) and what would I want to make sure is on my camcorder for a medium tech savvy agent to use.
